Savannah Schroll Guz holds a Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. In 1997-1998, she was a Fulbright Scholar and worked as a correspondence translator for Bavaria's Prince von Hohenzollern.
Savannah is a monthly columnist for Library Journal, where she reviews newly-released reference guides. Previously, her essays, reviews, and cultural criticism have appeared or are forthcoming in American Craft, Sculpture, ZMag, The European Journal of Cultural Studies, Modernism/Modernity, Bitch Magazine, Popmatters,DRAFT Magazine, and Pittsburgh City Paper. She teaches English, composition, and literature at West Virginia Northern Community College.
Savannah is author of the short story collections, The Famous & The Anonymous (2004) and American Soma (2009). She is editor of the theme-based fiction anthology, Consumed: Women on Excess (2005). Her stories have been nominated for a Pushcart and a Storysouth Million Writers Award. She and husband Michael Guz live in Weirton, WV and in Pittsburgh, PA.
